If you haven't already received the memo, today is polka dot day! Luckily I included some dots in my 30 so I could participate in Everybody Everywear's challenge. The combination of the 30 for 30 challenge and the Polka Dot challenge made getting dressed easy. Basically, my option was to style around this shirt. And since I was going to a job interview (nothing exciting, just a screening) I kept things pretty classic. Since I wanted to add some color without going too crazy, I wore my red wedges, which have been working overtime for the challenge (and will probably continue afterwards).

Another thing that helped me get dressed: this weekend workshop on alternative belting from the Academichic girls. This look needed a belt, and I knew the sash from my navy blue Loft dress (included in my summer 30 for 30) would do the trick. So I guess what I'm trying to say here is, if it weren't for blogs, I'd probably still be standing in front of the mirror trying to decide what to wear.

Tan cardigan: Loft; navy polka dot top: Banana Republic Factory Store; denim pencil skirt: Converse One Star, Target; pearls: mom's; sash/belt: from Loft dress; navy patterned tights: Old Navy; red wedges: Merona, Target, gift

Song: That Kind of Day by Sarah Buxton (I have to admit: I cheated. I don't know this song. But it sounds like a song I might like. Maybe. But 26 is NOT in very many songs!)

  7. Love the red shoes with this (apparently March 10th is "red pump day" for National Aids Awareness, so you might want to break them out again!). And I just wore a cardigan with a ribbon belt yesterday, so I love it too!
