21 Guns, Lay Down Your Arms

Subconsciously I channeled my old high school's colors, blue and gold, in this look. (Go Falcons!) Good thing that's the only thing from high school I've got going on here. I'll save my platform foam flip-flops and hot pink hoodie for another day. You're welcome.

Navy blue dot blouse: Banana Republic Factory Store; gray cords: Loft; mustard scarf: Target; brown oxfords: Target

I hope you're not sick of my blathering about books yet, because I have another one for you. (What else are you supposed to do on the plane but read?) I just finished The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs, and I can't help but recommend it to you all. Yes, it's about a knitting club, and yes, the title sounds like cheesy chick lit (which I admit I enjoy from time to time). But, the reality is that it's about so much more than that. At its heart, The Friday Night Knitting Club is about friendships between women, and how important these friendships are. If you're looking for a book that is an easy, yet touching, read you can't go wrong with this book.

  1. Ha, I too am guilty of owning platform foam flip-flops in high school! Really like the cords you're wearing..they look soft and comfy and the yellow scarf with the blue top is great! I always think those colours go well together ;)

  2. First, I love this look. The brown shoes just set if off perfectly. Secondly, thanks again for another book recommendation! I LOVE book recommendations! Currently I am in the middle of a fourteen book series. But when I am done (or just fricken' tired of these books) I am so reading this one and that last one your recommended!

much love: kimberellie (with a baby in her belly)

  3. Love this, it's easy & super chic, my personal fave! Haha, platform foam flip-flops you say? I somehow skipped over that fad in high school, but I just might have a hot pink hoodie kicking around. xx veronika
