She's a Ten I'm Sold

Happy Valentine's Day! It's too bad that it happened to fall on the most unromantic day of the week this year. For those of you celebrating today, cheers to sweetening up your Monday! For Aaron and I, we decided Saturday sounded like a better day to celebrate. Like last year, we decided we'd rather stay in and cook ourselves a nice meal. Not only did we save a lot of money, but don't you agree that having a meal cooked by your significant other is quite romantic?

While I didn't get dolled up to eat at home (not that I don't do that from time to time) I decided to have a little fun with my photos in honor of Valentine's Day. I recently discovered piknik, and I've been having a little too much fun playing with it.

Plaid shirt: Gap; dark wash flare jeans: Gap; brown braid belt: Loft; red wedges: Merona, Target

For dinner, Aaron grilled us each a strip steak (seasoned with grill seasoning) and some skewered shrimp (seasoned with cajun seasoning). I cooked some green beans so I could at least pretend this was a healthy meal (although the lemon and butter counteracted that a little). The steaks were huge--I think splitting one would have been a better idea. To add to the indulgence, we went out for gelato later when the "stuffed to the brim" feeling wore off. All in all I'd say it was a great Valentine's Day!

  12. Yum! I need to try Piknik - I keep meaning to and then I forget. We celebrated on Sunday night with a steak, mushrooms and broccoli with some cupcakes for dessert - I made them all. I love a night in like that sometimes!
