I Know it's Cool To Be So Bored

So the 30 for 30 just started, and I'm already hesitating about one of my picks. Not good, Shea, not good. It's this top I have on today. I really like the print and the shape, it's just an awkward length. It's too short to be a tunic, but too long to be just a regular, non-tucked blouse. I could tuck it in, but it didn't look quite right. Belting it helps, but I don't want to have to belt it.

Also, I wore this during the day today, but I want something a little edgier for tonight. My girl friends and I are going to watch a women's roller derby (meet? game? match?) tonight, and I need to up my badass factor just a little. Tasteful pumps and a belted sweater aren't quite roller-derby watching essentials. However, I have no idea what roller-derby watching essentials are. Do you know? If you do, will you let me know? Soon, please, I have to leave in a few hours.

So I'm thinking for tonight I'll keep the top and sweater (because I can't look like a badass if I'm shivering), lose the belt, change into skinny jeans and my wedge booties.

Okay, thank you for letting me talk through that with you. I'm feeling fiercer (more fierce?) already.

Teal cardigan: Loft Outlet; questionable length black and white print tank: Target; flare jeans: Gap; necklace: Dean Harris for Target; tan skinny belt: Target; gray slingback pumps: Naturalizer

  1. Embrace the belt. Because the shirt looks SO CUTE belted! I think you'll wear it more (and like it more) than you might think. And, I'm loving the shoes. When did Naturalizers get so cute? I have a pair of camel pumps that are some of the favorite shoes in my closet!
    Have fun this month!

  5. I totally hear ya on the length issue, but I think this looks great (btw, is it the Target tunic with the racer back top? I looked at those forever!) Every time you wear this sweater, I just can't stop thinking how great it looks! Teal is such a nice color on you! :)

  8. When it comes to awkward length tunics, I sometimes will add a neutral skirt under it to give it some length. This allows me to wear leggings or tights under it, and gives it more of a dress feel.

If you're wondering about other ways to wear it during the challenge, you can tuck it into a skirt and use it as a blouse; you can also put a long-sleeved T-shirt under it and wear it with jeans for a more casual look. Hope that helps! ;)
