While doing my daily blog-reading ritual the other day, I came across a recipe for scones at The Ungourmet that made me drool. I never realized how much I liked scones until I tried one at my local mall's Nordstrom Café several years ago. I love their slightly sweet flavor and light, biscuit-like texture. Heavenly. While mine didn't turn out quite as pretty as The Ungourmet's, the taste is outstanding. And since I didn't have any vanilla sugar lying around, I just used regular granulated sugar and bumped up the vanilla by a half teaspoon or so. If you're a non-breakfast-eater (shame on you! it's the most important meal of the day!) just make these and you will skip your AM meal no more.
