Done! Finished! My name is Shea and I survived the 30 for 30 Challenge! Now I feel like I can do anything. Not really--I still can't run, speak Italian, or change a tire (among other things) but if you ask me whether or not I can give up shopping for 30 days, the answer is, I can!
What did I learn from this experience? I learned that I can survive with only five pairs of shoes. If I must. I learned that accessories really do make an outfit; otherwise, you would have seen a lot of this plain blue dress. I learned that even after 30 days, I'm still not tired of stripes. I learned that buying ice cream does not count as shopping. I learned that my husband really must love me if he agrees to take my picture every single day for 30 days. Finally, I learned that you really can do a lot with a little, and it's not the number of clothes you have, it's the motion in the ocean. No, wait, I'm mixing metaphors. It's what you do with what you have that counts. Not one person said to me, "man, you sure do wear that striped shirt a lot" or anything like that, and I'm pretty sure Aaron wouldn't have noticed (the 30 items of clothing part--he'd definitely notice the no shopping) if I hadn't told him.
All that being said, I'm happy to go back to having more than 30 items to choose from. And I'd be a big. fat. liar. if I told you I wasn't itching to shop.
