It's official, I'm halfway through the 30 for 30 Challenge! The withdrawal from shopping has been tough (especially since I work at a clothing store!) but each day I feel myself growing stronger. No, that's a lie. Each day, I think about how much closer I am to going shopping, and what I'm going to buy when I do. Also, I have a technicality question. I won a giveaway at Calivintage for a gift certificate to Tiger Cult Vintage, and Etsy store. Is it shopping if I spend the gift certificate? Or, is it like a present since it's not really spending money (not my money anyway)? I'm really excited about it, and of course I want to use it right away, but I've done such a good job with "the rules", and I don't want to fall off the wagon now. Thoughts?
Today, I decided to try the dress-as-skirt idea. Since the dress-as-top look worked out so well, I figured this challenge would be the perfect time to try this other manipulation of a dress. I just folded the top part of the dress under, tucked in my t-shirt, and covered the seam with a belt. I like it--it looks like I'm wearing a skirt and a top, which was what I was going for. What do you think? How do you make your clothes more versatile? I'd love to know.
T-shirt: Old Navy; dress (as skirt): Loft; belt: from a Gap trench; sandals: Jessica Simpson, from Kathy's closet
You beat me to it, my outfit for tomorrow is a dress as a skirt! lol
ReplyDeleteYou made the dress look fab!
Love the belt!! Great pop of color!!
ReplyDeleteI am counting down the days till when I get to shop again too, and thinking of all the cute stuff I am going to buy. Not sure the 30 day ban was a good idea for me - I will probably spend more after it's over than I would've during it.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Loving your blog - thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting! So lovely hearing from a fellow Rosebud!!
