The Rain in Spain

Hallelujah!  The sky looks bluer.  The air feels fresher.  Everything is brighter.  What, pray tell, has changed?  I went shopping.  I’ve been whining and complaining, but finally, I shopped.  I had some birthday money, and there were a couple of sales this weekend that I just couldn’t pass up.  New York & Co. had everything (!) in its store 50% off.  In the past, I’ve never had much luck at that store, but I was rather impressed with the selection when I was there yesterday.  I found some great stuff!  And, Loft, one of my faves, had half off the sale priced items, so I had to hit that up too.  I can’t wait to show off the new goods!  I’m wearing two of my new purchases, this fun skirt and bright shoes.

T-shirt: Old Navy; skirt: NY & Co; earrings: Target; belt: Target; shoes: NY & Co.

Then, to improve on an already stellar weekend, I had my birthday celebration, part deux.  Aaron and I went out to dinner with my dad, my stepmom Gail, and my little sis Jenny.  We went to La Bodega, a Spanish Tapas restaurant in Kansas City.  I only regret that I didn’t take pictures of the excellent food we had (but when it came to the table, my only thought was “must eat”).  Because of the nature of the restaurant (tapas=small plates) we ordered a bunch of different selections, and passed them around.  There wasn’t a single bad thing.  Of course, I had to go along with the Spanish theme and try the sangria.  Good idea by me.  Gail and I also treated ourselves to a flaming coffee liqueur drink.  I’m pretty sure I don’t need to eat again for three days, but man, it was worth it.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend as well! This week, we're closing on and moving into our new house, so the posting may be sporadic.  I apologize in advance.  But once we get moved in, I should have some new house pictures--yay!

We were supposed to eat at LaBodega, (my fave restaurant) but they didnt have a table big enough for us. Went to Tassos! Lets find some time to meet at the end of the month! xoxo Jolie
