You Can't Take the Honky Tonk Out of the Girl

When I put on this dress with the boots this morning, it made me feel a little "yee-haw" so I just added the jean jacket to complete the effect.  I realize that this look isn't incredibly interesting or fashion-y, and that the biggest risk I took was having bare legs in 40 degree weather.  Not worth it.  But I had been wanting to try a scarf-as-belt look, and I'm rather content with the way it turned out.  I would prefer a more beat-up looking jean jacket as opposed to this one, but I'm not going to get rid of a perfectly good jean jacket in order to buy one that looks like I've had it for 20 years.  And I can't reasonably own two jean jackets:  I'm a fan but not an enthusiast.  I suppose I could roughen up this one, but I have a feeling that I'll later regret it.  Wow, have I really just spent this much time talking about jean jackets?  Well, if that's not proof enough of how utterly uninteresting my day has been, I don't know what is.

Not quite cool enough jean jacket: Gap; dress: Forever 21; scarf/belt: thrifted; boots: Aldo

  1. I adore this outfit!! The scarf as a belt is fantastic and the denim with the black is a great combo!

  2. What a great thrift find-those boots are super cute! love the scarf/belt accessory!

  3. Love the scarf as a belt! Perfect! I know what you mean about jean jackets. I'm not an enthusiast either.

As for my camera, it's just a plain old digital camera. A canon powershot a590. 8.0 mega pixels. I would sure love a fancy one though! But Canons are generally good because their lenses are good.

To get good pics I: TAKE A LOT. DELETE A LOT. And most importantly: I put happy on my face. Or some other feeling. What I mean by this, is, I don't just smile, I feel happy on the inside and let the smile come out. Do you know what I mean?

Good luck on your camera purchase! So exciting!!

I really appreciate hearing from you!
